Personal Issues

If any of the course topics bring up painful memories or cause you stress, below are some options for you to consider.

  1. Do the self-care activities that work for you: mindful breathing, walking in nature, relaxation exercises, etc.
  2. Talk to someone in your community; someone you feel safe and supported by.
  3. Talk to your learning partner.
  4. Talk to your supervisor.
  5. Talk to someone from your EAP (Employee Assistance Program).
  6. Reach out to your regional behavioral health support system.
  7. Reach out a counselor from ANTHC who is available to participants of the HH course. Laura Baez (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or Xiomara "Xio" Owens (MS clinical psychology doctoral candidate) may be reached by calling or texting 907-744-0272. They will get back to you within 1-4 hours.
