Getting to Know You

Hi there!

To get started, I want to remind you that although you may be the only BHA working in your community, you are a member of a large team of BHAs serving their communities across the state. As such, we want to get to know more about YOU.

Please take a moment to write a brief paragraph (5 to 10 sentences) that includes the following information.

  • Your name and any additional information about yourself you would like to share (e.g., what community you live in, your family ties, how many children you have)
  • The name of the organization you work for, how long you’ve worked there, and if you have any previous experience working in behavioral health or other healthcare positions.
  • What are you passionate about (e.g. cultural practices, helping people, social justice, family, faith etc.)?
  • What most interests you about being a BHA?

If you have a photo, please attach it in the box below.

Once you have posted your bio to the forum (using the button at the bottom of the page), please take a moment to review some of the bios of your fellow BHAs.

I"m Becky from Anchorage. I am not a Behavioral Health Aide, but I deeply respect all of you who do this job. Its very hard to do, and requires you to listen with your head and heart to help people find their own answers.  While you also take care of yourself so you can be present for others.
