  1. “Your Turn” on the bottom of page 531 in the textbook
    1. For the first question, it does not matter whether the students are in Grade 11 or Grade 12, so all 13 of the students are grouped together. Thus, the solution is that there are 13C4 = 715 different ways to select the debating club if there must be four members.

    2. For this question, only one student is from Grade 11. This means that the other three students are from Grade 12. Thus, the solution is that there are  different ways to select the debating club if there must be four members, with only one student from Grade 11.
