- There are multiple methods to arrive at the same answer, depending on which factor is used in the initial step. One possible solution is shown here.
- The integral zero theorem states if x − a is a factor of polynomial P(x), then a must be a factor of the constant term in P(x). In this problem the constant term is −6; therefore, the possible a-values are as follows:
±1, ±2, ±3, ±6
