   5. First write the function in decreasing order of exponents: p(x) = −2x + 4. The degree of the polynomial is odd and the polynomial has a negative leading coefficient. The graph will start in quadrant 2 and end in quadrant 4. Substituting zero for x gives the y-intercept (0, 4).
