    1. The equation can be mapped as follows:

       
      (0, 0) → (0, 0)
       
      (1, 1) → (1,  )
       
      (4, 2) → (4, 1)

      This equates to a vertical stretch by a factor of  about the x-axis. The equation for this transformation would be

      (1, 1) → (4, 1)
       
      (4, 2) → (16, 2)

      Using this mapping, you could state that the graph has undertaken a horizontal stretch by a factor of 4 about the y-axis. The equation for this transformation would be
