Module 5: Balance: Past and Present

Conclusion, Assignments, Handouts +

Last week we talked about gratefulness. Professor Robert Emmons suggests,

"When we choose to reject the role of victim with a focus on hurts, and instead

choose the role of fortunate with a focus on what we have to be grateful for, we live happier lives".

Dr. Rita Pitka Blumenstein is a Traditional Healer and has been a member of the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers—a group of spiritual elders, medicine women and wisdom keepers—since its founding in 2004.

She talks about redefining herself beyond past history, into the fullness of life...

Dr. Blumenstein also tells us . . .

We are free to be who we are—

To create our own life

Out of the past and out of the present.

We are our ancestors.

When we can heal ourselves,

We also heal our ancestors,

Our Grandmothers, our Grandfathers and our children.

When we heal ourselves, we heal Mother Earth.”
