Module 2: Job Stress
How Other Tribal Health Providers Feel Stress
You are not alone! Other tribal health providers consistently identify these conditions as stressful:
- Always being on call (not having real time off).
- Living in a small community—knowing everyone.
- Working with difficult clients.
- Lack of support.
- Working with difficult co-workers.
Most people feel stress in one or more ways:
- Tight muscles (hands, jaw, pelvis, shoulders, neck).
- Fast or shallow breathing.
- Pounding heart.
- Temperature: hot face, flushing, sweaty hands.
- Stomach or head ache.
- Fuzzy brain.
