Module 4: Emotional Balance and Spiritual Connections

Introduction

In the last class we talked about keeping our minds and bodies in balance. This week we are going to talk about spirituality and gratitude, and learn ways to keep our emotions in balance.

Learning objectives:

  1. Recognize the relationship between spirituality and my work; identify where I find meaning in my work and life.
  2. Understand what compassion fatigue is and how it affects health providers.
  3. Understand how to maintain and regain balance when stressed.  Learn and practice two life-balancing activities.
  4. Understand the concept of gratitude; learn and practice a five step gratitude exercise related to improved job performance.
