Introduction

In this Module, you will learn about the roles of Community Health Aides, Dental Health Aides and Behavioral Health aides in rural Alaska. To get us started with the lesson, we’ll introduce you to Reverend Anna Frank - a former Community Health Aide.

The Reverend Anna Frank (Old Minto), is a member of the Elders Council at ANTHC and a former health aide and mental health counselor with Tanana Chiefs Conference. Rev. Anna Frank retired in 2011 after more than 20 years as the Episcopal Diocese of Alaska’s Archdeacon of the Interior. She is, “the first successfully ordained indigenous woman in the world.”
